No, there really isn't. You've got maybe 1 decent performing bullet that will actually reliably expand over 200 yards with the standard 1/10 twist and frankly, they don't really have a negative impact given the tiny amount of lead used in comparison to just about every other deer cartridge. Then there's the issue that a 22 can use a similar bullet of the same weight...

When a BASC employee states that BASC has always opposed the introduction of further lead restrictions when as an employee of BASC he continually posts information in support of further lead shot restrictions I would say that is the very definition of hypocrisy.
Hypocrisy definition , the practice of feigning to be what one is not or to believe what one does not.

The reason I accuse you of knowing nothing is because you endlessly repeat the same allegations regardless of how many times you’re told otherwise.

I have endlessly repeated those allegations to you yet you refuse to acknowledge them and seem to deliberately misinterpret rather than acknowledge my point.
The point I am making is the bizarre occurrence of a BASC employee spending an enormous amount of daytime while presumably in the employ of BASC promoting justification for further lead shot restrictions when BASC policy is to oppose those restrictions. I’m calling it out as hypocrisy you are defending it.
Are you stating that this never occurred?

So people sell their .243’s and buy .223’s for foxing if they refuse to move to non toxic.

No... I use a 243 for just about everything. From crows and rabbits all the way up to reds and ringing gongs at range.

Once again, most of us don't just shoot deer.

Should you wish to question or disagree with the opinions in my posts feel free to do so.
I assume that you are perfectly happy to have a BASC employee advocate for further lead shot restrictions while BASC policy is to oppose them and that is your choice.
Should you choose not to confront threats to the sport no matter where those threats arise from that is also your choice.
It is however not within your gift to control the expression of others’s opinions on an open forum so no matter how much you may personally dislike the person or the post the option doesn’t exist to censor it. You can however dispute the facts within the post but I see that yet again you fail to do so preferring instead personal abuse and false accusation.

No, you're very wrong there. Its barely deer legal ffs at max charge not only that, its usable range is 250 yards for reliable expansion. That most certainly does not tick the boxs.

Ur assuming it will pass compketrly unchanged and follow the recommendations.
Which i do admit are workable for the vast majority.
Not ideal but workable, but as far as i can make out their is no guarantee , yet thats wot the legislation will look like.


If lead is the poisonus evil some would have u believe.
Why would u grant any exemptions at all?
Esp when the only reason is because no alternative.

After all most shotguns smaller than a 20ga will become obsolete.
Including many absolute work of art 12ga S/S's

If i was a city/towny labour mp with no interest in the countryside it would be a damn sight easier to draft the legislation with no exemptions at all.
After all less lead in environment is a good thing, right??
Do u think their going to understand the goobledee gook off different calbres and bullets wieghts mixing imperial and metric, hell its took me years to understand it.
It would also have the added benefit of ridding a lot of neds off airguns as they become almost obsolete too unless u go back to the old promethemus plastic skited pellets.

Its all very well looking at it with a sensible pro shooting head, the folk making these rules at worst quite possibly think all guns/shooting should be banned even best case scenerio wont be very supportive.
Putting ur faith in politicains is never great but even worse in current climate.
