Popped out this evening with HMR for a few rabbits. Had a steady walkabout , a bit breezy but keeps the flies off.

Ended up with 31 on my 1st sortie , back at motor now having a pork pie and a drink of juice before I head off for round 2 when it gets dark.

Thats good going mate Hardly any bunnies round us ..I would be doing well if I managed to get to double figures.

Plenty on this ground , that's only off 4 fields. Lost a farm last night as the old farmer is 83 now and bedridden, don't think he's got long left. I called in to see him and the gold diggers looking after him have stopped me shooting. I've still got permission next door though who is his cousin who said just shoot the rabbits over the fence

Honey extracting on Sat and chainsaw work and log splitting Sunday with a bit of fence work to keep the pigs in ...then a few rounds through the creed on the gongs ...missed my shotgun shooting but have to do the chores as well lol

Nice couple of hours out on a recently cut hay field where the farmer wants the rabbit numbers curtailed.

7 with an airgun (not been out with it for a while so it came along for the journey) and 11 with HMR.

Even managed to catch up with the cheeky dog fox that was making off with one of my rabbits!

Happy farmer, happy shoot manager, happy days

Fox vanished in a very weedy area of a small horse paddock.

Watched a roe buck in hot pursuit of a doe. Rut well underway in S Glos.

Will be out tonight after forecast of allday rain subsides, (hopefully), now recovered somewhat from 8 days in Poland on another firearms course, I have still got work to do on fitness, but I managed to pass this last one, (just).
Anyone interested in getting back their former pistol skills should get involved with N.W.T.G.R. (Google it).
Good job I packed my tick card too.

Seeing the same mate - second broods all over and i think some of the ducks - blackbirds - thrushes are on brood 3 or 4 !

Well I had a look out on some barley stubble this afternoon, it was very quiet but still better than sitting in the house.

A steady bag was built and shot really well.

Many more Hares on ground last night, No Curlew heard or seen, four Badgers in a group in & out of a feeder bin, ( probably a bad omen )
No Fox seen, air extremely milky due to two days heavy rain, back out the weekend.
