Its a private shoot from what i understand. Maybe about 10 people having fun. I used to shoot Up past the Black horse Gozzards Ford but that must of been 35yrs ago. Every other week I try and shoot Grazeley near Reading but I'm often at Bisley that day on the rifles.

Hello, Ok, I went a few times to that one, I did have a go at Brize some years back but only DTL, There is the 3 Counties up near Compton, This year is my 60th on Shooting when i got my first shotgun and licence, cheers,

Bags of 202 178 167 in the SE Essex area the last 4 days
A few good days there, well done. I know that in the space of a couple of weeks the numbers can increase dramatically. I'm back home tomorrow after over two weeks away so perhaps I might be surprised. I think you generally get bigger pigeon numbers down that part of the country.

Not me but I get a few text/phone chats so just passed on the numbers.

Well, it's official. There are no pigeons in south Shropshire. I arrived home last night after a couple of weeks away, took a drive round a few farms that I normally shoot pigeons on at this time of year and there were no pigeons on any of the fields. Normally I would at least see a few in the stubble but there is nothing. I have never seen so few. I'm putting it down to bird flue.

There's significant amounts down here in Gloucestershire.

When I went home to North Shropshire a few weeks ago, there was plenty too. It's always the south being difficult!

So just to clarify the geographical aspect of this..Essex is nowhere near Shropshire so Tim.243 is not to blame for the lack of numbers 😄 Also much different tactics in Essex where summer shooting is easier as the Essex residents blend in to the parched surroundings due to years of fake tans

I shoot both sides of the border (Powys and Shropshire) and have also noticed that there is sod all in the way of pigeons around this year. I have a few farms where crops have or are just coming off at the moment but frankly Im not expecting much if anything. Corvids keep me busy and frankly prefer shooting them.

Just to confirm that both pigeon/deer numbers are quite healthy also the universal translator is not required...

Colli wnes i eto.. :tiphat:

Very few in South Glam at the moment, there were a lot a few weeks ago but all seem to have dissapeared, lot of cereals cut and bailed plenty of stubbles no pigeons.

Has anyone else noticed a significant drop in pigeon numbers this year. I'm based in Shropshire and up until 20-Jul when I returned to work away from home there were no pigeons about. It may have been partly due to the fact that there was almost no flattened wheat or barley around, probably due to the good weather.
They’re all over here.

There are never really big numbers in this part of Devon. There are so many small fields of cereals, rape, etc., a few shots, and they're gone. It's been the same for as long as I can remember.
