...what vermin or small game did you shoot in the day?
We have the " out last night thread" but not one for the daytime activities.
May I start.
Took a good 150 yards shot at a magpie today.
I was quite pleased until I missed his mate that came to inspect the new cadiver
After that we intercepted Canada's on a struggling crop so had to be moved on.
Got four down before the 1 hundred bird flock got the message.

It would good to hear other stories of forays a field in daylight hours.

Out this morning and set up for 5am in the thick fog. Visibility was about 40 yds but still managed to call some jacks.

Fog never lifted until 8.30 am and then it was bright sunshine.

Finished on 78 and a bonus hare that came in to the decoy pattern, so that's the dog fed.

Shot ok this morning but below standard , missed some sitters .

Well what a day I've had. After this mornings session of 78 I was out again this afternoon on a new permission and shot 113 so I've shot 191 birds today.
Dropped 2 woodies with 1 shot which was a surprise as they were about 40 yards out

Very heavy humid trudge, And then I backed into some handy silhouette break up for a change.
Sorting return to 160 yards fall of shot, 1,920 yards excercise.
My efforts during daylight preparations for later on in the evening.
