All look a dead deer to me!

Not expert,by any means but you need good velocity with this bullet. I personally will focus and play with seating dept at 41.5gn. and should be good for sat 250 yards. Ideally you need 2800fps +. Hope #foxyboy will show up, think he used same bullet in sweede

40gr because at 0.5gr up and down, has a very similar POI, so if you're powder weights aren't bang on, then not a real problem, you're still in the same POI 👍
Or split it midway between the upper 2 of the 3 weights.

Right or wrong, it's how I choose my loads when developing. I'm happy with my results anyway. 👍

Good groups, however, anyone who tries telling you which powder change to use from the information you have provided is a fool. Tiny sample sizes, if you repeat it could look totally different. Creedmoors arnt the most potent cartridge in the world so if you arnt getting any pressure signs I would be inclined to go with the hottest load as you are using a hard bullet in a slow cartridge.

Looks like your rifle likes that combination. I think three round groups are fine to test for basic grouping - you’ll know soon enough if it doesn’t like any given combination.

I’d take those results and load some 5 round groups, I’d probably pick 40.5 and 42gr. I shot that bullet in my .260 and it was leaving the muzzle at 2850fps which was more than enough judging from the results on Roe and Fallow. Try and chrono if you get chance and check for SD also.

Hey Mark

Could you shoot the same powder charges again and show and tell 👍🏻

Be interested to see how similar the groups are after comment from “experts “

Spent a few decades doing load dev on numerous rifles and unless my basic fundamentals are off I tend to get repeatable groups from base level load dev that can be then enhanced with powder or seat depth ajustment

Any of those groups would be fine, and Creedmoors account for an awful lot of deer globally - to say they aren’t potent is nonsense. A 130gr bullet travelling at around 2600fps will flatten any U.K. deer at sensible ranges.

Creedmoors aren’t all that fussy and tend to be quite easy to develop a load for (one of their appeals to many) so by all means repeat the test but it’ll likely be the same results if your operation of the rifle is consistent.

Hi,

Where in Gwent are you? If you are nearish (Usk/monmouth) happy to meet up and let you stick some over the Garmin so you can be sure of velocities etc.

Thanks mate that’s a good offer but a mate has just said he’s got a garmin I can borrow to try so going to do some more loads and try some 5 shot groups for more accuracy thanks for the offer it’s much appreciated

Most I shoot deer out to is 150 yards anything further I leave or stalk in closer. Foxes I shoot out to 250 max but that’s it thanks for your advise
