I am going to get a shock as mine was free last time two years ago when I come to renew think I my pop a little note in the renewal form lol 😂 ps this was free five years ago please be kind 🙏🏻😂

No reason receptionist had a list on the wall i did mention it but the price is the price but i cant fault the service and not rven my own doctor as she is on maternity leave

Good to read that some GP's are still doing this for us.No chance with my GP,due my HGV medical next year not even going to bother asking.

My GP has just informed me that the cost to fill out the form for me will cost £120 :-( ouch .

Just an update collected my form this morning when i asked the receptionist she said has he done it then as she gave it to me said it must have been because i had paid upfront for it top service none the less

I paid £80 upfront for mine ...and they took 6 weeks to complete it...but I made sure I asked for it to be completed about 22 weeks before my renewal so I still had plenty of time. The irony is that I changed doctors 8 years ago and they had never seen me but it "ticked the box" 👍

Just checked my Doctors Surgery and it has it listed on their website under non NHS charges and it's £100 for a firearms certificate, it says the request will take up to 3 weeks and issued within 3 days from receipt of payment. I shall be testing that out when I do my renewal next year.
They charged £35 at my last renewal.
It's encouraging that they actually have it listed on their website.

Equates to 25p a week - or two and a half primers a week...
Please let me have the details of your primer supplier!
😀
As an aside, my last renewal of some 3-years ago resulted in a GP fee of £160. It was clearly something that had been determined by the "Practice" after serious consideration and sought to fully cover administration and also provide a little profit (for the Christmas Party). I concluded there must be lots of FAC holders in my neck of the woods, as this was most definitely not something specific to this Applicant/Patient!
