I had one of the first UK Athlons.
Yes they have a faster response time.
They also (in my experience limited to about 300 rounds of 6.5/223 and 308, and 500 .177 pellets):
Show almost identical SD and ES figures.
Scuttle butt is that they read the velocity closer to the muzzle giving the slightly higher FPS figures.
Mine is slow to charge from a power bank, but can still be used when charging.
The case and tripod are very useful, the bipod is more than double the weight of its main competitor as it’s an alloy not plastic, I’ve been on Stickledown in high winds, my buddies chrome blew over twice, mine stayed put (both chrono set up left and right of the same rifle as we were running a comparison).
Mine seems better value for money, I wouldn’t say it’s “Better” or “Worse than the Garmin, just a significant amount less.
I’d expect Garmin to drop their prices going forward.

I have the Athlon, works very well run 22LR, 22WMR, 223 44 Mag 6.5 CM and 308 through it. Never failed to pick up a shot. Some factory ammo hits the advertised velocities and some is a mile off. They are still pricey for what they are but significantly less than a Garmin.

Have you tried down loading the data ,for use into excel?
The magnato speed has a micro sd card with .csv files

I have not tried that, Excel and I dont get along

Just I keep an Excel sheet with all results to make it easy to look back on powder charges etc.

Do you know if the Athlon Optics Rangecraft does the same?
Allegedly you can export the data from the Garmin but I haven't tried it yet
