For those tattoo enthusiasts amongst us

Truly amazing work, that is skill

Tattoos, not a fan, as a teenager though, I always had a dream of being an athlete and going to the Olympics, then I would of had the 5 olympic rings tattooed.

Everyone to their own though

How would a person go about finding a skilled and safe Tattoo artist? Do they have a governing body or anything? I am guessing that there will be charlatans out there and the hygiene precautions will not be up to scratch.

My bro in law is a tattooist, so posed the question of a governing body, etc. to my sister. Her response was similar to my original thinking:
No governing body any more, people really (just) need to do their homework as to which studio is good by going into them and looking at examples of work, checking google reviews or speaking to friends that have had work done.
It’s down to the local councils to dish out licenses, but they don’t check to see if the person applying can actually tattoo or has worked in a tattoo studio...

Looks like it's best to use multiple sources of info to find one you are happy with. Maybe once you have narrowed it down to a few in your area then go speak to the artist and see if you are comfortable with how they operate, the studio, etc. Not something to be rushed into, but I have seen it become addictive for people.

Check out other people’s tattoos and where they were done that would help give you an idea of who’s work you like and what you think too the quality of work.

Hmmm. Tattoos….
I used to work in a circus. One of the side tents had a “Pay to see the fat tattooed lady” - now they’re bloody everywhere…

My leg from my the bottom of me arse cheek to my ankle is sleeved and both my arms are sleeved and I’m now starting to think about the other leg.

Being tattooed is a personal thing and got naff all to do with anyone other than the person wearing the ink and got bugger all to do with anyone else!

Anyone who’s got the balls to offer a face to face derogatory opinion of mine, will promptly get told to **** off!

But I will say I can hide mine should I wish too, but like I said it’s each to their own in how the wear their ink.
