Which is pretty disgraceful considering the help and Craic that is provided by SD, for the princely sum of £6 per quarter

Should people pay for advice from professionals - I forget how many times I’ve answered cries for help on forums over the years
Even to the extent of helping fellow rifle builders - who were starting up in their own journey
Who should benefit - the site owners , the people offering advice
From my perspective most UK based sites are not pay to be a member of
Any participation is freely given and any advice should be considered by the end user and then acted on or not as the case may be
It would be a sad world if people didn’t help others - especially those engaged in like minded activities

Not really, if I want to sell then yes I’ll pay trade membership but I won’t pay to support it not while it’s free to access!
I give my knowledge and experience for nothing to anybody. I don’t expect anybody to pay for it, but then again what I say or do may not be right for them so they have to have their own conscience.

Nobody is paying for the knowledge or experience. They are paying for a platform to access that knowledge and experience.
You don't pay for (most) content on TV channels, you pay for access to those channels

Even 20 thou members @ 10 quid a year be handy.
And that has what has happened to the newspapers now behind paywalls,so many have packed up bat and ball.
I`ve been told by a 'friend' that even the porn sites are dropping the paywalls lol.
It depends on what you access SD for. I come for a good read, a degree of serendipity, sometimes kit for sale, often things that make me chuckle or laugh out loud. I’m happy to pay a nominal supporters fee, no expectation of any special access or treatment. If I want reviews and in depth advice, I can find any number of opinions across the web, so I guess you have to sure of what you want SD to be for, before you make changes like pay to access. I’m not sure I’d stay if it covered in click-bait adverts that have no relevance to hunting and made me pay for it, whether I visit the site regularly, or not.

I do have a YouTube channel for my fishing and I do watch a few bits on there I do pay for the ad free, but that’s only because when I’m on the bank for 3-5 days at a time in the winter fishing, the drivel vids break up the boredom.
If you're finding fishing boring then perhaps it's time to pack it in and find a new hobby.......

out of me, too many years same old, same old but it pays for the fishing so I poke up with it 
, bit like the SD really, same people running on at the same time of year bang on Q wetting themselves of over stinking stags and fallow bucks, and getting excited about over sized dog chews.I do wonder if the shooing of male deer was banned there would be as much traffic in the SD?
The fishing isn’t boring at all, you do 4 or 5 winter nights with 12 hrs of dark you’ll watch crap too
