There's always an excuse....last nights before dark excuse is ..'the farkin range of 1400 yards' That`s enough.
I was watching this stag and couldn't work out his antlers so took a few LR pics and zoomed them up. My slight suspicion of having only the one antler seems correct. Although he may have a stump on the other side he probably has cast that side...1400 too far.
No matter what he was nonetheless showing intent to poke her though. I had no idea that the hind was there until he pushed her out of the cover.





At a lower altitude this morning I found this hind,she found me also and my quest to close in failed miserably.
