Cheap .243

In north west Leicestershire
Do he advertise online?
They do but you are better to ring him.
Or forest lodge guns Wragby may be nearer. I expect if you rang and said you have a £200 budget they’d find you something. Never bought from them but looks like they have a stash of older rifles.

Ring him and tell him you have a one ton budget.

If it is a shop you buy from just add in to your questions ("does is group ok? what ammo was used in it?) and have you any of it?
Problem there is, everyone selling a gun to a shop will tell you anything , treat all guns as if there’s going to be a problem.

I’ve bought several guns 2nd hand and only had a problem with one. A recrown and it was all good. There must be some dogs out there but suspect the majority are good. Plenty of new guns seem to be less accurate than expected

Good morning lads/ladies
I’ve not shot fallow/roe for a few years now only really shooting muntjac and foxes. So I took .243 off my ticket.
Now there’s a chance of getting permission on some land with fallow and roe
( I just need to confirm a few things and walk the ground)
So I’d need a .243 again to be legal, but I have next to no budget while renovating a house.
The less money I could spend the better really.
I’ve been a savage 1100 with scope and mod for £300
And parkerhale or bsa cf2, are they enough to do a job? Or am I wasting my time?

Cheers
Sell the .223 (assuming that’s what you’re shooting the munties with) and buy a .243.

Plenty out there for not a lot of money.

I would try to find a good condition Parker Hale and also speak to Norman Clarke to see if he has one or better still could make you one from the Parker Hale stock of parts he acquired when PH went bust.

I bought this in 6mm Remington from him a couple of years ago, stock parts but unfired apart from proof testing, I love it. Not screw cut so loud and a bit of recoil but so well balanced without the mod either on the shoulder or on sticks or indeed off hand.

Lovely!

Thanks, I think so too. Talk about sleepers, it was on Norman’s shelf for 7 years before I decided to buy it. The fact that it was 6mm Remington calibre and lack of factory ammo put me off for a long time. Once I got into reloading and secured some brass for it I was straight over to Norman’s to buy it.

A 22-250 mate, I’d be very hard pushed to part ex it. I might be abit sentimental but it the first new rifle I had every bought and I did a lot of over time to pay for it.
I could sell it though, then use a light round for foxes and heavy for deer. It’s a good point
