Small Deer in the Tall Cover..

Last time I was here the mid sized Fallow Buck was an easy spot, I half thought there might be another one turn up but zero, lots of small prints had walked over the old fallow slots also 2 muntjac buck scrapes on the way to my stand, this field is awash with fat-hen so I must run the dog through one day as several pheasant's burst skywards announcing my presence
The tally of muntjac and foxes is struggling as this 2 year scheme is just to high, but the route most take is around the headland leaving me a slim chance!
Further along the ground rises a lot with many a muntjac/fox following down the old trails, the first deer was no different however when it disappears I just have to wait for it to pick the path I am lined up on!
Sure enough a yearling doe is on her last route of this field, over gunned with the .270 (a bit) should another Fallow Buck cross the ditch (not really) 1 down!

Just wait young Skywalker said the voice in my ear, wait for the Buck! there he was only 2 mins behind sniffing the air number 2!

Fresh front legs is my Spaniel's top treat so that keeps them quiet while thing were put away.
