Last day of season, 1st roebuck taken on my land!

Very pleased with this chap, I had followed him on the trail cams since the spring and through the rut. He was elusive. I was thinking he's have to wait for another year, after all, it is close of season tonight. I finished work at 4 and hot-footed out to my high seat for sunset at 16:28. Not expecting much. 16:35 he walks out, I get him in my sights at 35m and he looks me straight in the face. I take him and he drops on the spot. Post mortem reveals top of heart and great vessels shot clean off. Lovely 6-pointer.

Aren't roe so much easier to skin and butcher than muntjac...

Thanks for looking!

Kimber 84's are very underrated rifles. A true mini mauser action, 3 pos safety. I used a 84 mountain ascent. A very light and accurate rifle. I rate more than my old sako fun lite and that was a very fine rifle!
Well done on the buck!

^ you’re quite correct Border. I was confused by the M in 84M. I think I might have paid more for slightly better wood, but it was about 15 years ago!
