Caught up with some roe that moved here during COVID and they have reproduced every year but the young always seems to disappear!
I sincerely hope they have moved on but I've not seen or heard any evidence of it.

Anyway, with much to learn I would like some comments of condition and if one of the now there bucks should go come spring?

Look in fine fettle to me. If you shoot an older buck holding much of the territory it may give an opportunity for younger bucks to come in

I just fear there are no more, other than the two youngsters. This area must be the last place in Europe to have roe!

Look in good order, that buck doesn't look too old id leave him a year or two, it appears to be that one of the kids was a buck (i could be wrong) might be worth knocking him out in spring 👍

Thanks.
I think both youngsters were bucks! Is that even possible?

As above, look healthy & in good condition. Leave the antlered buck & mature doe but shoot any young buck(s) next spring. Give the does a chance to increase your population a bit - always assuming you want to see a few more about the place?

I do, I was hoping for 10 running about by now but I think the predators take the young.
I keep on top of the fox's and there are some big dog fox's here but there are the increasing badger numbers again 😞
