I would like to promote this deer cart

Hello fellow stalkers, I would just like to take the time to promote this deer cart that I purchased, it has honestly made my live so much easier in some of the most difficult areas where extraction can be difficult, it's rated for 500lb and cost less than £75, can be broken down and reassembled at ease without tools......I found it works better with the handle bars turned in the opposite direction giving you more leverage when pulling, the weight of the beast is more or less center balanced in the cart making a 90 kg deer feel like you're lifting and pulling something close to 30kg.......... try it out you won't regret it

I was looking at that and thinking the wheels might be a bit small in diameter for where we stalk in Devon as the mud can be really deep there sometimes, but it would be quite easy to swap the wheels for some mountain bike wheels which would give you all the height you need to deal with the really deep stuff.

Thanks, looks like it could be really useful.

That’s cheap for a well regarded product. I’ll be ordering one to keep in my truck as I find hauling anything much over 25 kg is a struggle these days. Thanks for the recommendation.

It looks a useful piece of kit. I can see how setting the handle in reverse means the centre of gravity of the load is immediately above the axle for the wheels, so they're supporting almost all the load, you're just guiding it.:):tiphat:

If you're buying one make sure it's the 500lb one as the wheels are larger and sturdier.....I'd personally avoid the 300lb version due to the smaller wheels with spokes as is more likely to buckle

Thread 'Game cart' Game cart
I think I introduced to the SD the idea of a deer cart, it was after I was introduced to them when hunting in Montana, they can be hard work but do makes things easier, used one yesterday to extract a hind.
It's over 10 years old and still going strong

Great thread. Reminds me why - on the whole - I prefer woodland deerstalking!

K
I find woodland more difficult:

Para after the picture of the buck refers. All woodland I stalk seems to be on steep slopes, mostly not going in the direction you want.

I have one of the Hawk deer crawlers and have found it to be very good on the fields:

I notice the latest version of the Hawk has spoke wheels which I wonder are more likely to buckle so at £179 I might just wait to see if the Vevor version comes back in stock. I might be waiting a long time I know!

Do any of these carts have brakes with anything like a dead mans handle for operating on steep slopes, (where I might need to stop for a breather ) ?
