Today at work I.....

That's the one. Look nice, there was some at Llandudno.
What are they like Tim?
Hardy little hill sheep.
Geographically very restricted, with the majority of the population still found hefted to their local fells.
Nearly got wiped out in the F&M outbreak, but the breeders association had the foresight to collect and freeze embryos.
The lambs are born black and get paler as they age. Very old herdwicks are more or less white. Most you see are the characteristic dark grey colour.
Hill shepherds traditionally colour their fleeces with red ochre to make the sheep more visible on the fells.
Beatrix Potter was a leading exponent of the breed, and kept them on her farms in the Lake District.

A few from courtyard job, been coming here off and on for nearly 20 years.
Side note if anyone has a matching set of red stag shed antlers id be very interested, the staggie needs a decent set.

What you been doing there mate?
Whatever the lovely design lady wants! Usually everything twice.
Pulled all the mature shrubs trees out, move statues out including staggie, turfed a few bits replanted to the design.
I do alot of maintenance for them here too.

pigeon netting today, i think thats 19 nets around the market place in cambridge.
i do love feral pigeons

reminds me of when the library was built in cambridge and i had one of my mini cranes in there. One morning i was walking into the job and a feral flew into a window in front of me and fell to the floor obviously done for so i bent down and scooped it up, slightly over did wringing it's neck and pulled it's head clean off and without breaking stride chucked it in the bin as i walked by only to look up and see a purple haired heavily face pierced and tattooed coffee barista in the adjacent coffee shop let out a scream and burst into tears , my smile and wave did not improve matters

Today at work I...........didn't break anything!!

I spent the day excavating in preparation for a patio outside of our new house addition and it was extremely tight quarters.

To say that this was a test of concentration is an understatement, often swinging within an inch of the house and shuttling over and over while bouncing on rocks within an inch or two of the satellite dish. I can proudly say that in eight hours of this I didn't damage anything......not even my ego.
