I agree with that SJ but fo they really care about the 'good dogs' because if they did they wouldn't put the dogs in that position in the first place.

Andy, gambling between the travelling community and a few Giorgios who take them on, is big money, bets of 10k or 20k, on a 5-5 match are quite common, they may even gamble more now. The top dogs that can regularly kill 5 hares in 5 consecutive courses are almost as rare as rocking horse $hite, but they exist, and these dogs are priceless.
I agree it's a bit hard on the dogs that get put to sleep, but these Pi-key only understand tough love, I'd rather the owners were put to sleep, but that's not going to happen.

Poaching coursing etc etc has went on for centuries, Even the gamekeepers themselves and who I’m good friends with a few say this, it’s something that will go on and on.
It has just happened on my permission during daylight on a Sunday afternoon, The keeper and farmer got the car reg and the police went to the house because of threats that were made by the poachers, The car was worth less than the dogs and the driver never owned any dogs and of course would not say who he was with
It was not travellers either it was lads from a nearby town.
Also guys be careful what you post on here, It’s now supposedly racist to call the travelling type certain words, I have no ties with them but be careful because there has been a few incidents over recent years where people have been investigated and prosecuted, I believe there are now dedicated police teams looking at online comments

I understand how it works BD,I have a cousin who is well connected in the equine side of trap racing...big bucks for the top nags & races.
His son also builds,fits & paints the old school living wagons,he only does 1 every couple of years,the money in them is massive.

You are so naive, lads think nothing of travelling 4 or 5 hours to run the dogs on deer .

They travel from the North to Bedfordshire just to run CWD .

People travel to get sport especially if they live in a game sparse area , Norfolk and Suffolk will be prime targets with their proliferation of game.

I know people will drive for hours for their sport, I do so myself. The bit I find hard to accept is that they are blindly going somewhere without local knowledge. The other bit I find hard to understand is if your local plod know its lads traveling from Wales (or anywhere else) then why can they not organise for the vehicle used to be stopped during the 4/5 hour run home?

Hounds dont deserve destruction you're right but its the only thing that hurts them.
Crushed vehicles makes no difference they just get another , along with small fines or jail they aren't bothered.

If they've got no dogs , problem solved.

Very incorrect.

Many Greyhound/Lurcher charities rescue these hounds from their hateful lives. Have one who has been a very dear family member for years now plus a number of others fostered by me before they go to their new families.

cant replace a dog quickly, a good dog takes time and is worth money.

In all my years I’ve never seen a Gypsy lurcher starved for working .

Dogs are maltreated but don’t make up rubbish that it was for coursing.
