120gr non toxic loads

Anyone got any real experience of the Sako blade?
I know other non toxic loads are available but they need to be 120gr so that rules out yewtree and virtus.

No on deer experience but they group well in my Sako. I have heard good reports from roe through red and up to elk.

Edinburgh rifles have a 124 grain peregrine vlr4 that might suit.

I’ve had great results with the 118gr version.

i kind of do get ya @Norfolk Deer Search , but then again if our forefathers had had the same approach, we'd all still be throwing rocks at stuff. And i kind of prefer a rifle to a rock ,D

haha, exactly ,D But as i also mentioned above, if one already has a load, and bullet, that is performing wonderfully, i can understand why one would prioritize ones funds and times towards other areas too So i do get you both. .-)

Personally i shall be buying a box of 120 grn 6.5 sako blades in 1.5 week or so, to start reloading, so i bloody hope that they arnt awful
It's not that i prefer them to barnes, well a little, since they are not only eruopean, but nordic made, but the main deciding factor is mainly that i can pick up the sakos at a physical location relatively near to me, and thus avoid a ridiculous 65 euro shipping fee, for "dangerous goods".

Kind of yes. I shoot the virtus 101gr on roe but want a heavier bullet first fallow and red. I’ve shot Barnes before but found them less effective on roe as had a lot pass through. So switched to Virtus. Found Yewtree too destructive for my liking.
Just wondering if the Blade was a good compromise. If you were to believe the hype they might be but just wondered if anyone had real life experience.

Yep, that can happen. Another problem can be importation. Here in Denmark we dont always get all of the possible weight options for a given bullet type, and the government have made it super difficult buying in even components from abroad. That can also put a limit to ones options somewhat too. But it is still going to be fine, i am sure, but in the moment, it just seems a silly limitation by the danish legislators.

i can report back here, if you like, or send you a dm when i have the data - i'll mainly be using them in south-eastern sweden on boar, roe, fallow and red. There is a very slim chance of moose, or moose calf, but we're talking quite slim indeed.

Do you already know which powder you want to use? Mine is for a 6.5x57 with a 24 inch barrel, so not exactly identical to a 6.5x55 but probably as close as you'll get.

Yes probably be RS60. My barrel is only 20” so need the faster powder. Works for Barnes about 2850fps

If you are shooting past 200m I'd look for something that fragments, under that I think Blade or Barnes are grand
