Advice needed, please?

I've decided to make a few roe antler bottle openers to sell, and was wondering how best to present them.

I thought perhaps cutting off the pedicle and mounting the metal into the main beam would a) look best, and b) be more practical for the smaller antlers? And on the larger ones, perhaps cutting just above the first tine?

What d'you think? I'm second-guessing myself now 🤔

I have made both ways although if you cut back the pedicle so that the beam is a similar diameter to the flange it can look neater. You need the beam to be at least same diameter or slightly larger than the flange. Personal preference really.

Lad on Instagram here in Montrose does them

Thought you might have fired up the gas forge to make the opener to give it that rustic look?

I've made a couple of these also, this one is a memory from 2015 in Mull.
The stag only had one antler and had been running about for a while in that part of the island.
Now I see it every day, I had a good time on Mull stalking, and this reminds me of it.

Wouldn’t it look better if the bottle opener was made from a brass cartridge then inset into the antler and a bit more individual.
