Wanted: 300 WSM Rifle WANTED or 300 Magnum

@billy_boyle_2010 I was in Fawcetts this afternoon and checked these two rifles out. They are in great external condition and were owned by a husband and wife for highland stalking. One has a shortened stock and the other a lengthened stock. Can’t say what the barrels are like but they had not done much at all as the blueing wasn’t worn anywhere.

Very nice of you thank you. They have been for sale for a year or two. The wooden stocks put me off a bit tbh. But i wouldnt mind one tbf.

Why not keep it simple and just get a 300 PRC?
For practicality, whether you reload, or not, get the 300 Win Mag. If you're stuck for ammo, you're likely to get 300 Win Mag in any gunshoo, not so much with the other 30 Cal magnums.
Also, the 300 Win Mag has about 10% more powder capacity over the 300 WSM. should you need it.

If you reload the PRC is the better option, headspaces on the shoulder, no belt to mess around with longer COAL to make the most of the powder space. I haven’t bought factory ammo for my 300 or for any of my centrefires in 10 years, other than the 7.5x55 as factory is cheaper than I can load it for and 100 rounds for the 30-30 to get the brass. So for me, as a reloader, factory ammunition doesn’t come into the equation. I reload, in part, so that I am never stuck for ammunition and shoot one rifle that factory ammunition isn’t even available for.

Politely could I ask why that’s an issue? I don’t know the seller - merely trying to be helpful.
You cant get any spares for them, shouldnt need any but if you do its a custom fab job.
Generics like firing pin springs are fine as they are pretty common
