Another night vision question

Good evening everyone and sorry to ask yet more questions regarding night vision
Could you guys tell me or explain what Id like is something I could swap between my 22-250 and .17 hmr.
Mostly it would be on the hmr but id like to use it for last light muntjac on the 22-250 and then fixing later on at night.
I was looking at the hikmirco alpex at50t, but from what I’ve heard id struggle with foxes at 200 yards but it would be fine every where else.
Is it the ir illuminater that stops it going to 200 yards but the scope is capable or doing better with a better illuminater ?
If that is the case should I then buy the at50s which is cheaper and then get a brighter torch to go with it?
I don’t really want to spend more than £500 on the set up due to a house renovation, which I appreciate makes things harder.
But it like to be sure what I’m buying is good enough for the job I’d like it to do.
Cheers rob

DNT Zulus V2 will do all you need and has a very powerful onboard IR - plus Rangefinder and Ballistic Calculator..
Shouldn’t be allowed really…..

+1 for a DNT Zulus V2 520R. The VCSEL 850Nm IR will get you out to the distances you require and store the ballistic profiles in the unit for the different rifles. IMHO for the money I don't think you can beat it on image quality, versatility or spec. They do take a bit of "Getting you head around" the set-up but straightforward once you handle it a few times.

Like all electronic sights they can be a tad confusing with lots of menus and buttons and, and….
Said confusion is directly proportionate to the age of the new owner but steady lads, steady!
This chap has a series of absolutely excellent guides for the hard of thinking - even I could follow his super clear advice…

The a50t with a night blaster torch from blackwood outdoors will do the job. Torch only about £40. Had the same set up

Just had a look and I like the prices?
What is their effective range? If I can I’d stuff to 200 yards I’d be happy with that.
Is it a dedicated nv only scope?

What scopes have you got just now? Have you considered a vulpine add-on?

I’m only in my mids 30’s 😂
I don’t mind the faf of setting something up I just want to make sure I buy the rite thing and don’t regret buying it when I could be spending it doing my house up mate 😂

I keep looking at LEP's and remember you talking about your first foray in to their use a few years ago.

Do you find the beam almost too tight to quickly acquire a sight picture or is it fine in practice? Is the area of spot the same at 50yds as it is at 200yds or does it become slightly larger the further the beam throws?

And lastly, with such intense light, how do animals react to it. Do they freeze in the beam or is it so intense that it upsets them?

Using my thermal for location; sufficient around for finding if you’re looking in the right general direction; models available with focusable beam: ‘Vastlite Versa Bow’
(@Shaun Goss, I don’t own one, happy with what I have) let’s you choose/vary your setting; not had any adverse reaction, it may be a lumens/candela ‘thing’ - either way, the light seen from this end can EASILY stand a filter, such is the intensity delivered to way out there, even on half power setting. With anything, the job will get done, I’m sure. A .22-250 and a .17 generally tend to need little by way of holdover to their general range of use.

Now, tell me about the Japanese edging stain!👍🏻
