Another night vision question

Have you thought of an add on such as the Ludicrous Lumens Vulpine for your day scope.
VULPINE MK3 ULTRA SHORT HIGH PERFORMANCE NEAR EYE ADD ON 70mm-78mm.

You will need an IR laser illuminator to go with this. He sell these too. And he is good to deal with

Use mine with confidence out to 200 yds. But I can easily identify hares out to 400 yds. My shooting ability does not stretch that far though.

There is no 'faf' setting it up. You just turn it on and fire up the IR.
The vulpine doesn't mess with eye relief either.
As for recording footage. Use the thing between your ears.

Use a thermal for spotting and the Vulpine for shooting

Used a pard007 too. That was OK out to 200yds with a powerful enough IR but it does move the eye relief back a bit.
Sadly Andy doesn’t make the vulpine v3 anymore so this are not available. I’ve used them for years on my .17 and .243 and I’ve never found better. Regret moving to thermion 2 and selling one of my units. Now back in the market for a nv unit but struggling to find a review or YouTube video that comes close to the vulpine.

Damn shame. Best add on by far and that's comparing with high end tubed stuff too.
Just stick it on the scope. No eye relief issues. Turn it on, turn IR on take shot. Turn all off again.
Brilliant image quality and top back up service from Andy.
Gone the same way as the Drone Pro which was the best dedicated digital nv sight.
Folks want stuff ever cheaper and there is a cost to that.

Think you will struggle to get anything close to the Vulpine for image quality

I managed to get a brand new Vulpine off a member on here for £350 last week which is a result. I now have a spare :). Got a Zulus 4K arriving tomorrow with Wraith + so will be good to compare the diffence.

I've used the ATN X-Sight 4k Pro scopes with good success. With a decent IR illuminator I've shot foxes at 250yds. It can clearly ID them out to about 400yds, 500 at a stretch if you focus the IR torch in tight.
It's available fairly inexpensively on eBay. Get the laser rangefinder with it. If you program in the ballistics it will calculate drift and drop very effectively.
Avoid buying the v1 ATN 5k Pro (they had issues in both hardware and software). I've not tested the v2 5k Pro, which they tell me fixes these issues.
The one-shot zero function is very good. I zero my 223 at 36 yards (the range down the back of the barn) and I've gone straight out to 600 yards and had first round cold bore on 4" steel.
It has the ability to store several rifle setups so you zero for each setup and then just tell it what gun it's on. A QR mount makes life a lot easier for this. ADM make a special one for it, which I use. The return to zero is pretty good - about 1/4moa variance.
I would still strongly recommend a thermal spotter for actually finding where your quarry is, rather than waving the gun around to see what's about.
Hope this helps. I can do a more detailed review of the scope if it would be helpful, along with some scope footage. Let me know. cheers Giles

Bugger. Looks like you bought the one I had an eye on.
On the look out for a spare myself
