Question about Bushwears 3 legged sticks.

Am I right In assuming one can use these sticks as a regular two legged, and deploy the 3rd leg if required? I might order a pair whilst there cheap as chips, we've already got the two legged but Its falling apart and even has a bullet hole through it....

I've been really wanting sticks with an extra bit of stability but my mate dislikes Quad sticks.

had some from them years ago 1 leg fell off within hours, bolts need changing for nyolocks.
not brilliant to shoot off. id say find someone with a set of quad sticks and borrow them for a day or two to see how you get on before buying
ive used a cheep set of quads for 5-6 years under £100 and like them

My Bushwear quads broke a leg on day 1!
Quick bodge with a couple of bits of aluminium pipe made them usable again - only as a fallback should I forget my B&Q de luxe quad sticks. They live permanently in the jeep because unlike B&Q they come apart into handy lengths but I really hope I never have to use them….

I'm sure mine are the Seeland ones
like everything else they've gone up in price since i got them
but use them most weeks while out foxing

I've used the bush wear quad sticks for the last 6 years. No problem at all.
Try some quad sticks there miles better than 3 leg jobbies. Easy to deploy and so much more stable. Shots on foxes out to 250 are quite achievable.

mine are covered in camo tape now on the top half's only because they live in the freelander and have faded in the sun to a light bronze colour
probably makes no differents but makes me feel better lol
shot foxes out to about 220 yds so not as far as Will but still a good range at night off sticks
again as Will said a lot lot better than any three leg jobbies and easier to carry than a big tripod i think

A decent tripod if you’re used to using it will put plenty in the bag, I don’t know about the Bushwear offering, but having used a homemade wooden one for forty plus years, I can vouch for the concept; that said I don’t shoot hardly anything above 100m, an occasional out to 140m or so, so it may or may not suit your situation. The collapsible one made by Knobloch is well built and light in weight, but possibly a bit more ££ as a result of that better build quality.

Knowing how to get the best out of it is the trick, the shooter’s stance being the place where the difference is made.

Dont waste your time with a tripod, get a set of quads and learn how to use them. Even a cheap set of quads beats all 3 legged sticks. Quads can also be used as 2 legged rests.

Real hunters shoot freehand... possibly with a hazel staff if they are old and wobbly...

Those of us in the know use quadsticks.... any quadsticks will do...

Everyone else muddles through trying to convince themselves that their carbon/aluminium, swivelling ballhead saddle clamp, tripod nightmare thingamajig is as good as they have been told

Quad sticks revolutionised my stalking!

My AW first introduced me to them as he saw me struggling with double sticks from that day he installed in me a proven and deadly piece of equipment. I would never be without him. They never leave my side like my binoculars.

Quad sticks

Now most start with quad sticks, as for your mate's opinion did he become proficient with quad sticks?

That Is true, I admit I really did like them when I used them a few years ago me being on the smaller side I feel like most of my Instability comes from my shouldering I really appreciated the rest.

If I were too guess probably not logistically If he had purchased a set at one point with how expensive they are I'd imagine he would still have them, I'd guess he's used them one day with a friend?

Very old traditional style guy I dont think he liked fiddling with them he likes the ability of the two legs, but as someone mentioned above whilst there bulkier (and you've gotta deal with the stock rest) there's nothing stopping someone using quads, as a two leg If you want too?

I like the trigger sticks , Had mine a long time and the most important bit .... You must clean them ! I Use them on all heights and you can track running quarry . The more you practice with such things the better you get with them ( OBVIOUS I KNOW BUT TRUE )

Tri pods are get yourself a kit from @takbok and 4 B&Q sticks, make cheap set of quad sticks

There is nothing stopping you making a set of B&Q quads for around £15.00 with bolts to fit your height.
One bit of advice is use 5mm bolts as when the holes wear it will be close to 6 so +1mm
Use 6mm bolts then the next size is 8mm +2mm

Second also very good option is the quad stick headss Lee mentioned no drilling just cut to length and glue.
