Stolen Zeiss Trailcam

Many years ago I had mine stolen from a place miles from anywhere no paths etc. Not a clue who stole it.
D

I scratch No 7, No 8, No 9 etc on the top of mine.

Had a couple tampered with, but never lifted. Never caught the “Oh moment” on film tho.

Touch wood, none of mine have gone walkies… yet! However, the last time I checked them one had got pictures of a vehicle that doesn’t belong to anyone authorised to be on the ground & the location isn’t one where there are any obvious vehicular routes.

So I was wondering there seem to be cameras everywhere these days I had always thought you had to put notices up if you put cameras up? Maybe wrong we have right to roam here in Scotland and I find it a little obtrusive having un notified cameras when your taking the dog out walking. I don’t supose it matters but it destroys the illusion of your enjoyment of solitude in the middle of nowhere ?

No cant prove poaching, but was well after dark ,
I can’t fathom that someone would just spitefully take / destroy a camera 🤷🏻‍♂️
It’s of no use to them anyway
You can't fathom it because you are a decent, civilized human being, unlike the scummy individuals that seem to take pleasure in thievery and vandalism.

Unfortunately these people walk among us, and are often known individuals.
A friend of mine recently suffered theft of some farm equipment, and there's no way that anyone could have lifted it within the timeframe without the necessary expertise and specialist equipment to do so (which points to someone within the same specific branch of the industry) and without knowing exactly where it was and when it would be unattended (which points to someone who knows her and her routine). It was not just an opportunist theft.
No doubt there are similar individuals within the stalking world.
Very sad.

Accurate 1,............................You have made progress. At least you now know that someone is visiting your permission, and is up to no good (poaching, theft, etc.). You need to harass them as best you can. If you do nothing they will get bolder. Keep after them, contact the police, make noise, spread the photo's, spread the word. If you make it hard enough for them they will move on to somewhere easier.
