Ouch...

Just pulled this thorn from my foot.
They can be very annoying those thorns but as usual we have another worlds worst Smelly.

The world's worst "thorns" are arguably the venom-filled stinging hairs of the Gympie-Gympie (Dendrocnide moroides), which cause excruciating pain lasting for months.

I sprained my ankle having stepped and fallen down an animal hole whilst out foxing in the pitch black..😢 I was very lucky not to have broken it or snapped my shin bone..
The hole didn’t lead to anything, just the start of a dig, but was nearly two foot deep… Still limping, 9 weeks on.. Hadn’t been out on a farm for 8 weeks, venturing out only last week for the first time..

You were very lucky there not to have done some serious damage
, never mind being able to get yourself home.

not to have done some serious damage
eff me,it was serious enough lol. MONTHS ON CRUTCHES/REHAB...then being hospitalised again with a massive infection in the achilles op wound. However the serious part was that it curtailed my deer hunting until I bit the bullet and drove my manual hilux when wearing a moon boot. There isnt much space between clutch and brake in a normal boot let alone in a moon boot. It was a horrible time.
I have just revisited the below.

California can beat you all, even hotels are highly dangerous.
