Doing the rounds yesterday with a decent crop of rape as the last time he put it came to nothing (but the pigeons still found it) but it is up and away just need to make a plan.

Last time 5 years ago.

Processing the pigeons that my lads shot roosting last Saturday, only a few had rape in their crops. By far the majority were full of ivy berries.
Not shot any since the peas in the summer as these drills put it in so well, it is only when it comes wet and they get in a muddle the drillings shoot ok.
Peas and Maize might be a chance but no chance on the spring barley drill lol

Was talking to a farmer the other week and he said he hadn’t had to put his gas guns out. I guess he will now

On my stalk this morning I put up no less than 11 woodcock. I'm not proud of it but its an absolute joy and privilege to see & hear them break cover from 5ft and a 243!

Yep
I had a look this afternoon and any I see were in the ivy, everywhere else is underwater still or too muddy
