Dead pixel

The problem on my Zulus seems to be confirmed by the DNT I sent some photos to; the verdict says "Dead Pixel." Can anyone tell me if this is a random occurrence, and more importantly, if the shutdown of one pixel causes others to shut down in a cascade, or if it can simply be a one-off issue?
