We get loads of sky channels (sports, movies etc etc) through our Ee package for a fraction of what they would cost from SKY……..

Agreed but not enough of them .
I had EE to for less than a week before I cancelled it , it was so bad

Yes. Same here other than the racing which I only do when at my clay pigeon club as the owner has online betting and I do it through him.

I have a firestick with 3000 channels on, costs me £60 a year….
PM me if you want the info of the guy who does the subscriptions, never had issues with it in 3 years now.
Get every sports channel basically worldwide, series, movies etc etc

That’s good to know - if they call me back & offer a deal I may swerve it & just try to get a better deal with the dish & box set up I’ve got

I had a similar experience with Sky. Been steaming for the past 10 years. Various streaming boxes exist but you can also go to Freesat or similar for a one off cost on usual channels over satellite. I currently only use a AppleTV box however ( I won’t have Apple TV subscription 
) . Just install apps as you usually do. YouTube, Netflix, Disney, whatever you want.
After you have left however, if you are that desperate you can sign up again, Sky will keep calling to resume service as a “new” customer.
Just call their bluff and cancel.
Every time they called me I bluntly told them what “service” I’ve received and that I never want them to call me again.

Ahh absolutely I mean…. Always happy to help people, I was just sick of Sky and there prices to be honest…. For the price of a decent lunch or meal for 2 people I get my needs sorted for 12 months 
I had similar with my EE broadband. Rang them to get the better deal advertised. No not eligible as it's for new customers only. Ok I said cancel my contract and I'll ring up tomorrow being a new customer, or are we going to stop messing around and give me the deal advertised. Ok I'll go and get the manager, good, hey presto they can do the deal after all.
When we had BT broadband & a landline we had to cancel at the end of each contract & then take out a new contract using the other half’s name - ie when mine expired we too’ out a contract in Mrs DB’s name, then when that expired it went back t9 a new contract in my name. All paid from the same bank account for the same address
