Snow doe

Thought I would do a write up for Timmy as I know he loves them 💖

On checking the forecast it said dry today so a text to the farmer telling him I would be out at 3pm.

On arrival at my destination it started snowing so I hung around for 10 mins until it cleared. Heading for the usual haunt of the roe I was surprised that there was nothing out yet , must be sheltering in the woods.

I decided to check another field but it started snowing heavily again so another 1/ 2 spent sheltering until it abaited.

My next plan was to check out the boundary field but on glassing behind me I spotted 7 roe in a field back towards the farm.

I decided to try for these which were about 1/2 mile away. Up the bank to reach the edge of some cover and skirt along the edge hoping to get within range. As I was getting nearer a bloody cock pheasant flushed making a hell of a racket , bins up deer still feeding 😀 I was now about 150 yds away when another pheasant let off the alarm ffs This time a few heads were up so I hunkered down until they resumed feeding.

I now had to crawl through soaking snow to get to the fence line which would offer a shot.Managing this I checked out the deer which were relaxed by now 3 bucks 4 does.

I had to wait a little while for the nearest doe to turn broadside. I then sent 100 grainer and a resounding thwack came back but there was still 7 deer standing ....wtf

I quickly checked with bins as I knew I hadn't missed , only to see a doe go wobbly and fall over.

She was hit perfectly 124 yds but didn't know it 🤣

Lovely afternoon stalking in the snow ❄️

Nicki, Glad your gout allowed you to get out stalking :tiphat: Bitter East this evening so far South.

Wow...I loved the first bit where you describe the stalk...then felt sick with the bromance 🤮:lol:

Well done anyway mate ...just make sure you keep off the big deer as we dont want to get into a "how much does my big deer weigh" competition...might get nasty :lol:😛💋

No big deer near me so no bragging will ensue.
