I asked AI to calculate the effect of shooting 60 fallow does each year from 1996

I have shot, on average, 60 fallow does every year from 1996 over an area of c.4500 acres of mixed arable and woodland. I’ve also culled around 16 younger fallow bucks each year, numerous roe and muntjac too, but am leaving those aside for the moment.
To get an idea of the cumulative effect of those fallow does alone (and not being mathematically gifted), I asked the question with simple chat with Google’s AI.

If broadly correct I’m a bloody hero, preventing the births of some 26500 deer, c.6100 road accidents and saving £25m in car repairs and crop loss.
I operate a 70/30 split with the Estate, so asked AI how that worked financially, which was interesting. Seems the Estate is getting a good deal….

Do you guys and girls find these generated findings to be in line with your experiences?

Brilliant study and interesting results.
I’ll expect to see you on the new years honours list…

I think that anyone who puts in 30 years of dedicated effort deserves credit where credit is due, especially when viewed next to the figures which AI calculated. It also points out that it doesn’t take too many 4,500 acre estates which have had a ‘lax’ ( read as non existent, outsourced) approach to deer control to see why there are real problems in parts of the country. Hero will do for me.

If that’s true I would submit your invoice to the insurance company for £7.5M based on your 70:30 split…. Let us know how you get on 🤣
