Before you buy, think carefully if you will hate the single stack magazine, and, try a couple to see if you can live with the un-removable trigger creep. Not slagging them, I have one, but these issues truly **** me off. You also are not supposed to shorten the barrels as they have a slight choke/taper design to the muzzle in the last few inchesWould any of you that have bought the S&L have chosen the classic with upgraded wood? Is there much of a difference?
Yes definitely, in fact 'on paper' I preferred the design of the classic stock. However, I took a punt on a 2nd hand Victory, again from Steve at Ivythorn, it has a built in aftermarket adjustable comb, so I felt happy that I could get the right cheek weld regardless. When it arrived I loved the feel of it and don't need to raise the comb at all. It handles really nicely and is very well made for the money.Would any of you that have bought the S&L have chosen the classic with upgraded wood? Is there much of a difference?
Hi John, single stack doesn't worry me at all, shortening barrels doesn't interest me either. The trigger issue would however. Has anyone else had issues with this? Before you buy, think carefully if you will hate the single stack magazine, and, try a couple to see if you can live with the un-removable trigger creep. Happy with my trigger, breaks at 2.5lb. Although I never seem to really notice trigger at all when I am stalking. I've got CZ's and Howas and keep thinking about putting Timney triggers on the Howas but the truth is - in the field - I just don't notice anything wrong with it. Perhaps if I was a target shooter I would feel differently?Hi John, single stack doesn't worry me at all, shortening barrels doesn't interest me either. The trigger issue would however. I looked over one years ago and don't remember hating the trigger. My current Sauer 101 I find excellent, the Beretta I had was god awful.
In that case, sounds goodHi John, single stack doesn't worry me at all, shortening barrels doesn't interest me either. The trigger issue would however. Has anyone else had issues with this?

Would that be a Santa Barbara action Peter? Likewise, that .308 that my mate John has for sale in the classifieds (I am tempted), would that also be a Spanish Mauser type action? This!!!
