I use some fabric heat shrink, has been excellent and keeps the heat mirage down considerably. Taped at the muzzle end and easily slides off and back on.

Hannams/viking arms have ASE brand covers available the ASE mods

I had a TAB cover that was velcro fastened along the length of the T8.
Stopped mirage and easily removed definitely worth a look

I have a Praesidia one. I needed a custom one for the Stalon 149 XE, it took 2 weeks and was £90 IIRC. Heatproof as well as protecting the mod.

Hmmm.
I abandoned my original neoprene cover as it was so thick it interrupted the sight picture and instead I used that elasticated cammo tape, one advantage of which is it is easily unrolled and replaced.
Fine, super, dandy…
Then I had a rather long range day.
Did you know children that after many shots that easily unrolled elasticated tape melts and sticks like glue to your moderator, then as a finale sets like concrete?
