9mm Destroyer

I just picked up a 9mm destroyer with the bolt stuck in the action.

The extractor collar is broken and stopping it coming out.

Can anyone advise me how to get the bolt out?

That’s a bit of a shjitty situation to be in. Are you able to work the extractor claw with a pair of pliers to hopefully get it to detach?

If it's not loaded (!) get a 8mm bright bar and hammer the bolt out from the muzzle.

The bolt is half way out. Only moves about 10mm

Unless you can access what is jamming it apart from removing the barrel I don't know of another way, not that I'm an expert.

From the, very, limited amount I know there is a host of different 9mm cartridges available. Had the wrong one been used out of speculation?

extractor collars are a common failure in destoryers

Maybe work the bolt hard to try to dislocate the collar until it gives way. Or bin the f’ing thing

You’re rhe the one proposing to remove the barrel mate

The issue is similar to a Mauser 98 with a broken collar whilst extractor is in situ. One hook is inside the extractor claw, the other hook/foot is broken and the collar expands/relaxes enough to cause an interference fit.


Personally, if you cannot manipulate the extractor to make the broken collar give way, I’d cut the extractor claw I half with a dremel, then remove the bits and replace with new collar and extractor

The extractor is not in place. It is just the collar stopping the bolt coming out.

It’s possibly just facing the wrong way, spin it so the hooks match the claw raceway in the receiver
