Parker Hale help

Stalking for cwd with Sikamalc and his grandson. Warned him to put plugs in but like all young uns he knew best .
When I fired 🤣 😂 🤪 he learned a lesson that day .
Many years ago I sat till dark with a sheila half a yard to my left and a stag appeared below us,I threw one at him with a .300WM and the sheila instantly screamed like her throat was cut...I jumped lol...WTF I asked thinking something went badly.
Oh it was so loud I got a really bad fright
well it is a rifle you know and they do go bang
yes but I didn't know it was going to be THAT loud

Her first time she had heard a .300 is a true memory.

She`s happy now with the shock gone. Btw that TRG-S Sako 300 is the "orange gun" that`s been seen in these parts previously. Stag shot square thru left shoulder with a Nos Part 180Gr that came out middle of right shoulder and I tracked him for a fair ****ing way. They are tough boys and the Noslers are too hard using 30 cal mag types driving them.

Only just seen the post apologies 😳.
The bolt seems identical to my ph1200 in .243 ,my 1100 in .270 cant tell a difference tbh .
In which case they are Spanish mauser actions ,Parker hale assembled their rifles from bought in components.
Voere do many components for this model range .
The uk stockists and well worth a phone call is Norman Clark of Rugby telephone 01788 579651
When Parker hale went bust Norman bought all the stock and a quick phone call should get what you need atb Iain

My replacement shroud will be here Monday, so I'm cleaning the bolt up and oiling it so it'll be ready to go and I have a question on reassembly.

There is a groove at the end of the bolt body, and a wing, per se, on the firing pin. Do I put the wing in the groove then rotate the cocking piece? Or do I put the firing pin wing 90 degrees from the groove and when the cocking piece rotates it puts the wing in the groove?

Just pops straitght in, it can only screw back on one way. I usually hold the cocking piece in vice jaws when re fitting the firing pin to the bolt body, as you can just push on the bolt shroud and turn the handle back

All my information on Parker Hale hope it helps atb

Hi just got a parker hale 270 S/N R-052-- can any one tell me what year this is also.
My stock does not have any bolts in wooden stalk half way up the stock. Under the front scope mount area

Thank Bill

Mine doesn't have that bolt either.
It engages with a recoil lug beneath the action, I believe (but I may be wrong about that?)
Often seen on big game calibres.
Some P-H rifles in .270 or above seem to have them, and other's don't.

Here's the chart for IDing manufacture date. My date code was on the bottom of the barrel see second picture. I can only assume all are. Mine was YB5, YB for 1973 and 5 for the inspector.

Crossbolt gents, crossbolt. Reduces risk of stick fractures and wood compression behind recoil lug on heavier recoilers.
You’ll see magnums carry two usually, with one also being between rear mag weld and in front of trigger guard.
