Hi,

Chris here from South Africa.Been hunting since an early age.Grew up in the bushveld where my folks had a farm near Thabazimbi.Spent most weekends hunting rabbit, jackal, warthog, impala etc.I now live in Somerset-West near Cape Town. Not many hunting opportunities close to us but we probably have the most beautiful rifle range in the world with frequent rifle competitions. For hunting we travel to the eastern cape,a 10 hr drive or 1hr45 flight from Stellenbosch. Here we hunt warthog(beautiful salami),ribbok, waterbuck, blesbuck, impala, koedoe. We walk n stalk ,often walking 20+ km per day.I have 2 Blasers in .22,.243,.270 and .308.Also have a special little rifle that belonged to the late author Wilbur Smith. This is the rifle the lads have to shoot their first buck with,Sako 75 .243.I would highly recommend a trip to South Africa to experience the bush and looking forward to sharing/learning on your forum..
