8mm Mauser surplus ammo

Hi all, does anybody know of anywhere in the uk or near to Shropshire where any 8mm Mauser surplus ammo may be available?

Have you tried Minsterley Ranges, they usually have some (PPU) for their club rifle?

Unless you mean milsurp in which case I have no idea.

I assume it has not been a military round for over half a century, all of them that I have de labbed had flake powder but they were all German WWII stuff even some with steel cases.

I think you will be struggling if you are looking for military surplus 8mm. Henry Kranks sell PPU 8mm ammunition

Thanks for the reply guys. I’m looking for military surplus. I can get PPU no issues there. I have a Yugoslavian, M48a Mauser and was hoping to find some original stuff for it. I shot 15 rounds from a member of my club through it, and it was fantasticly accurate.

8x57 was also used by the armoured cavalry corps of the British Army. It was used in Besa Machine guns fitted to British tanks in The WW2 and into the late 1960s. In British use it was known as 7.92x57 and have seen this in link in British marked ammo cans as military surplus.

No shop just have some as own a Mauser k98

I have the M48 and originally shot milsurp - badly! I now shoot tailored reloads through it - lovely thing to shoot and since I fitted a rail and scope (old eyes and battle sights do not mix) has proven to be a real shooter though be aware the bolt handle may foul your scope…

If you want to duplicate the German schwerespitsgeschoss load, get some 198 grain PPU full metal jacket bullets. Then load them with 45 grains of H-4895. This load will deliver 2450 fps and it will shoot right to the sight settings on a 98k
