Having too many permissions this time of year?

As it happens there is a downside to having multiple permissions, along with larger pieces of land I have a number of smaller, private gardens, small holdings, stables etc that I cover, it’s nice to have a choice but in the last week the txts have started to arrive about cubs and foxes being seen in the daytime(5 in 2 days) suppose it means I need to be careful not to take on too much, that’s when you start to loose permissions if you can’t get to a small holding that’s being raided on a daily basis.
Looks like we’ll be out most nights now for a few weeks.

Snap! I have had several calls re unwanted fox visits. One took 3 separate visits to resolve. One on going where a fox is visiting at all hours no pattern and lay out precludes seeing the visitor before it arrives. Its also fox trap shy.

I got a text plus video from a farmer last week asking me to sort out the situation. I had 4 in 2 hours.
Will be back out tomorrow night when the wind and rain eases to see if there's any more.

can you deputise a mate to help?
I have, luckily I have a very good relationship with my landowners, all very accommodating really, I’ve had some health problems the last couple of years and have had no choice but to ask trusted mates to help out when I’ve not been able to go myself.
Big shout out to those that have and continue to help me.

It's such a balance, isn't it? So easy to lose land through no fault of your own (change of ownership / tenancy etc) so I never say no. It comes and goes over the years and there have definitely been spells where I didn't have much choice and didn't want to overshoot patches, and other times when I've only just kept on top of things.

Victim of your own success mate :) 👍I shoot about 4,000 acres (ish) but tend to increase the ground once the existing ground is all under control...but same as you I have periods where everyone wants you at the same time. Fortunately the foxes have behaved this year in the most part so not had to many reactive trips to deal with them.

Culled another 2 dog and vixen on another small perm last night. That's 4 in the last few weeks. I am hoping that's now cleared them up. Currently awaiting this forecasted warm dry weather to facilitate 1st cut of silage at 2x traditional farms its going to be some v late nights into the wee small hours to cover it all.
