A Masked Lapwing,colloquially known here as a Spurwing Plover. I thought you blokes had plovers Willie?

We do John. There are six common species of plover in the UK - Grey, Golden, Green (Lapwing), Ringed, and Little Ringed, as well as the Dotterel - but none look like that that one.

I don't have photos of all six, but here's a Golden:

It’s been a wonderful year so far for Painted Ladies. They seem to have arrived en masse, and the hedgerows near me are thick with them.

My game cam was located over a wallow where this stag rolled however the creek rose overnight and I got a duck. Lucky the camera wasn't drowned.
