Anyone using the magic box 12 for kebabs? Your thoughts?

Well, mine's finally arrived and in the flesh so to speak (my cock up) and its much smaller than I'd imagined

The holes are only 20mm diameter so the koftas (or grillsticks as the instructions call them) won't be quite the size I'd thought - think chipolata verses porker. It is however very well made out of quality high-grade stainless steel and manufactured well, not like some shiny thin plate Chinese ones I've seen.

Hope to give it a go in the next few days.

When I looked at the video, Kai Brin? Making them, they did look small to me also. There is a bigger version, but that might just be more holes rather than fatter kebabs.
My alternative is probably a week away yet.

The “manufacturer” is Spikomat and on their website it shows the bigger one which has 20 holes instead of the 12 in this one - they are the same size holes,

Bought one used it once it’s in the drawer gathering dust. I’ve found a much easier way to shape kofte with a 1.99 plastic scraper and vac pack bag. Lay the bag on the counter put your ball of mince on top roughly in the middle. Pull the far end of your bag over the mince towards you then put your scraper on top and push the mince away allowing the bag above to move too. Works a treat. Saw it on tik tok so can’t take the glory for it

Interesting that they don't show the cutter! Now I'm waiting with trepidation to see if you really have the better bargain

Still not arrived though - might be one of the packages due today. I'm butchering Sunday so hopefully, not long!

We used these as well as the kofta type when I was in th trade. Once you get used to using them there OK. Ideally get the needle if it doesn't come with one, if your skewer is bent you end up going off piste.
