Certainly in the Yorkshire dales and NY moors is plagued with them, mixy seems to come in every year when the weather cools off round sept Oct time, like I said previously it takes the cream off but never seems to have a big hit on the population

In this part of the world have become very localised, as appears to be the case for so many commentators. I was out last evening on a particular farm and there are plenty of them about. On another property not far away they've almost completely collapsed, two years ago he was up to his ears in now he sees only the occasional one or two. I use all those that I shoot as a couple of my neighbours and friends like them in addition to myself. A pity more people are not aware of how delicious and nourishing they are. They are destructive little pests though once they gain any significant numbers.

VHD moving up through the Borders at the moment, so numbers dropping off again. Saw one farm go from 200 in a field to 2 in a matter of 10 days.
