Fac renewal

I will, it’s not worth the hassle of doing anything else. Its still daylight robbery though
Not really is it ?

5 year ticket, £110 ober the 5 years Is £22 a year so £2.36 a week.

Cheap as chips in fact you can’t buy a pint for that.

When you put it like its not too bad I suppose but its still extortionate when you look at the form. Literally a few tick boxes and a signature.

Dont blame the docs, they werent consulted and its not part of their job for nhs.
im suprised more dont say no or charge more
I think the evidence suggests they were consulted...

Yes, it is not covered by their NHS contract, so it is private work that will be charged for, I know it won't be free.

Not read it but i will take your word for it

It would
Is extra work for them, do you work extra for nothing?

Don’t blame them
It would be like me charging a half a day's money for an hours work. I have no doubt you'd have a whinge if someone did it to you.

It isnt their fault as really it should be included in the renewal fees but its hardly a surprise to them, surgeries have been doing it for a long time, and theres no need to profiteer out of it.

My GP practice Insists on cash, can't remember how much but I suspect they are pocketing this and not declaring it as earned income.
Seriously considering reporting them to HMRC.

You have to put that into the context of both your income and outgoings, not everyone has bucket loads of money to spend on things.
To quote Mr Micawber:-
Annual income £20, annual expenditure £19, 19s and 6d. - Happiness
Annual income £20, annual expenditure £20, 0s and 6d. - Misery

Why shouldn’t they make a quid? What makes you think they should do it for free?

If I have a job to do that I can’t do, and I need done, I pay the money and that’s it’s dealt with, regardless if it takes 10 minutes or 12 hours!

Bit like a Dentist, you’ve got toothache, and if you’ve had it, you’ve had nothing worse that I will guarantee you!

If it had cost me £1000 to get that tooth out i would pay it!!!!

In the grand sheme of things, you’re buggered without it, so pay your money shut your cake hole and just get on with it and then you can carry on doing whatever you do. It is really as simple as that.

And there is the magic sentence, not covered by NHS

Private, so therefore you’ve got to pay for it. Quit your winging get your wallet out and carry on.

because we supposedly have a national health service that is free at the point of delivery.

remember the licensing system is there for the good of the public, which is why it didn’t use to fully recover its costs.

an example of other licences that are tax payer subsidised are:

Passport
Driving licence
court and tribunal fees
companies house fees
gambing licence fees
alcohol licences
taxi licence
etc

the list goes on.

we are a soft target
