Down by the Pond

As so often I see/shoot more of these at this time of day, no different with a small buck the previous evening, the vines are flush with peas sized grapes emerging from the stems with the owner still keen to see these knocked over.

My vantage point picked out a hot brace who disappeared in the direction of a small pond which has been a Jewel in this 320 acre farm, the drill is to drive 200 yds behind cover then use the vines as foot stalk cover on to a shootable position, 2 faint hot spots moving my way with the pond between us!
They both went through the reeds to take a drink with the buck moving off first, he stopped using the tree as a reference with the thermal to find him with the scope,
she never took any notice of the shot and carried on until deer o'clock finished, had there been a shot it would have been sensible not to shoot as the brambles steep side would have been a recipe for a ball ache recovery.
