Horse fly repellent

Good evening
Apologies if this is in the wrong section but I thought it was stalking related.
Does anyone have any thing they use to keep the bloody things away? My leg look like a pin cushion
I’ve tried insect spray but it doesn’t seem to do anything

Same but I certainly don't like them. I get infected pretty much every time with the things

Thankfully I don't react, but I've known quite a few horse folk that have had very severe reactions over the years!

I only had the one, many years ago. Boy' did I suffer, the bar steward. Lump came up almost straight away. Must of been painful to still remember it.

I'm taking antihistamine owing to hay-fever coming back in my senior years. One of the unexpected side effects is that horse fly and mosquito bites which used to blow up and itch for weeks are now bearable

We're using stuff called the hot horse fly spray. Comes in a sachet that you mix with water and works out abit cheaper than the hedgwitch stuff. I use it on myself and it seems to do the job. My personal favorite is the carr day and martin extra strength stuff that comes in the blue bottle but the plastics get melted away with the deet in it so im stuck with deet free for shooting

One of my favorite forms of entertainment while waiting in the field. On one dove shoot the youngsters I was chaperoning dubbed me “Spider-Man”. Mesmerizing watching the big girls spin a web.

As to horseflies and deer flies, have you tried the sticky tape on your hat?
