DirtyPro Tools Gun Safes

So I couldn't see anything on here (or anywhere, really) regarding DirtyPro tools safes in particular, so thought I'd post my experience with my recent purchase. Perhaps this may be of some use to any other newbies out there who are looking to purchase a gun safe for relatively cheap, and were looking for something new.

I settled for their 6 gun safe with the 'vault' style door, and paid £199.99 delivered. I'd initially found this one for sale through B&Q's website, but opted to purchase directly through DirtyPro tools as it was marginally cheaper, and still free delivery. DirtyPro Tools 6 Gun Cabinet Delux Model. They do a 'wood effect' version which is £10 cheaper if that floats your boat.

This one has the integrated ammunition safe in the top with a separate lock, and is listed as built to BS7558/92 so will hopefully satisfy an FEO.

Dealing with DirtyPro Tools themselves is not fantastic. I tried contacting them between purchase & delivery to ask about the delivery, and received no response. The number listed via their website rings out, and is never answered, and the same for their email address. There does seem to be another set of contact information that's available if you look through their TrustPilot reviews which may illicit a response, but in my experience, I didn't get anything back here either. They do require you to select a suitable delivery day, and you are emailed by the courier to confirm this through a booking portal. Here again, there is a messaging service where you can contact the courier, but this doesn't seem to work. There is also no contact number provided here, and the company name listed for the courier leads to dead end - the courier listed is no longer in business. It was at this stage I'd wondered if I'd fallen for some elaborate scam....

Thankfully, that was not the case, and the safe was delivered on the day I had selected, and I was messaged on the day with a delivery window to confirm when this would be. It just boiled down to their communication being a bit sub-par.

The safe itself seems good quality for £200. It comes with 4 concrete anchors, has 4 holes in the rear, and 4 in the floor of the safe.

Generally I'd say the safe is a good size, though might be a bit of a squeeze to get 6 rifles in here with scopes attached. The foam divider can be moved around freely, and is only held in place by friction. Due to the door being the vault style, it does take up additional space inside the safe, which I've found means I needed to be a touch creative when putting guns in there. I only have my air rifle at the moment, a Gamo GX-250, which seems to be quite large from the bottom of the butt of the stock to the top of the scope, so it's a bit of a squeeze.

That's about it really. Is this an excessive write up for a £200 safe? Yes, but it's always nice to find a write up on products, as it's typically what I'd look for when buying new kit. If anyone is looking to purchase one of these, or wants measurements that haven't been provided on their website, feel free to ask.

Mods - apologies if this isn't the right place, I couldn't see where else might be suitable to post.

Nothing, the safe is great! Company selling it are a bit crap to deal with, however.

Doubt I'll need to get 6 in here, but might as well have the space.
If it’s listed as 6 gun they’re talking about 6 shotguns, not 6 scoped rifles unless they’re all scoped with 4x20s, hence the description.

I have had the 8 gun, bought when I moved house 6 years ago, no issues to date so seem built to last. The 8 gun holds 6 rifles with proper scopes, about half with side PX.

Looks very similar to one I bought on Eb*y, I can just get 2 scoped rifles and 2 shotguns in mine, as the rifles have to go in at an angle as the sights stop the door closing.

What's the quality of the anchors like? I bought some online & they were cheap. They'll be fine if going into concrete, but obviously if you're going into thermalite you'll need threaded bar & resin.

I bought a six gun deep Brattonsound Sentinel, but that was £550, because I needed a left-hand hinged door. Bloody thing weighs a ton. But as long as it's compliant.

Just make sure you install it correctly, because my FEO was trying to rip mine off the wall when doing the inspection. He was training a new FEO up, so he just didn't tug on it.

The Anchors are just fine for concrete, which is where they've been installed. I also did resin anchors for the rear 4 holes as well, it's sturdy! I gave it a damn good haul about with the door open and it didn't move at all.

The product listing suggests both shotguns/rifles, but does stipulate that it depends on the scope size. But ultimately it's fit for my purposes so I'm happy either way!

Yeah I read it, hence the comment about 4x20 scopes. If I put 8 rifles in mine with the scopes I have they would constantly get damaged as they would knock into each other.

Glad it’s worked for you just be aware you’ll need a bigger one soon!! 😂

Nice looking safe for the price

I found using the magnetic attach foam spacers/holders available on Amazon I could get 9 in my Bratton Sound SL7+ (shotgun safe with vault door and top lockbox) if I put them in side to side instead of back to front - if that makes sense. Was a mixture of shotgun, rifle and scoped rifle at the time. This approach doesn't really work in my RL5+ as the door takes up so much room the internals are tiny, so just keep my air rifles in that one now.

Regards

Mark
