Advice in calibers

Isnt the second part of the above at odds with the first Lee. You say you have no ego then state that you can do what the rest of us need 2 or 3 rifles to do

At least you know you are right ... so no need to try and convince the rest of us :)👍🥰
No not at all, just confidence!

You and others want to waste hard earned coin on guns you don’t need thats up to you, I just can do with 1

If you say so mate

I dont waste money mate- I spend it how I see fit and therefore dont care what others think as after all I earned it.

I do laugh when you say 1 rifle does everything anyone needs ....yes from a deerstalking perspective my creed will do everything your 7 x 57 will do...but I dont think its really suitable for rabbits, hares, foxes, crows, pigeons etc.

You are well entiled to your opinion ...just dont think opinion and fact are the same thing 👍

If I want to shoot crows and pigeon I use a shotgun!

Deer 7x57
Fox 7x57

Farmers shoot their own vermin something I’m not desperate enough to get involved in, I used to give all that work to a couple of young lads, who still do it to this day as far as I’m aware on the permissions I gave them 20 odd years ago!

Agreed but that works for you and we are all (fortunately) different 👍

What did you used to say "You do you and I'll do me" :)

That is not necessarily true mate as it depends on the cost of all the kit. If you think about load development you will "waste" 20-30 rounds as an absolute minimum. I do it but its not driven by costs its driven by accuracy, availability and being in control. Maybe after I have fired a few thousand rounds it will end up being cheaper but not for a while yet. Yes I could have got cheaper kit but you get what you pay for.
Been hand loading for about 30 years I guess, got my moneys worth a long /long time ago . I purchase primers , powder , bullets . Got my money back from the loading stuff first year most likely less .
I never "waste" more ammo , over what a factory ammo shooter might use up. Though I do get to shoot more rounds without fretting about the cost of ammo. Ammo used on Load development ? I do that generally once only when i set up the load anything from say 3-20 rounds . Three shots would be the good guess at the get go , 20 would be me working on the trajectory or doing something dumb like trying to set up a rifle in a windy day .

All fair points. I was using the example of "waste" more in terms of load development but we all know its not a waste when you find the right load. But to be fair I also accept that you could buy 3 or 4 boxes of factory before you find what your rifle likes...though I feel we are more likely to "make do" with factory ammo. If you get a 1" 3 shot group then happy days..whereas with home loads you wouldnt accept that as being good enough to warrant the effort.

Just wanted to make the point that the financial side of things is probably a few down the list 👍

Next box you buy might very well be filled with a different powder when its factory .
Oh i do make lower power and could take that into Subsonic though if i had a use at some time . Money spent when you shoot a lot matters to most people , three boxes of 20 is not going to bust the budget . The recent PRC fiasco over slower than advertised due to changing the powder is just an obvious annoyance to those who perhaps swapped out their previous rifle now have lost the benefit of 300 fps !
