Bad breath in my bitch

Hi folks, my bitch has bad breath (fish like) only really noticeable when she is close up and with mouth open.

She is fed on royal canin food, drinks plenty. Her treats come from pedirgree and she likes the denta sticks that they do. Her teeth are perfect in color with very little tarter.

Is there anything to be concerned about or can do ti improve it.

This may be the norm as I have very little experience with dogs.

Lots of reasons!
Her teeth may look great, but if the gum margin is inflammed - bad breath, there could also be a damaged tooth.
If she has is long haired, or folds like on retrievers, it could be bacteria growing there
If she is old, it could be kidney related.

Too much to guess about, I'd get her looked at.

Some dogs however, just hum!

Sorry should of stated more info.

She is a dacshund, 14 months old short hair. Her gums seem to me a healthy pinkish colour.

She isn't a greedy dog in her food or water.

I'd get the teeth checked.

I had a similar case once that actually had an anal gland infection, and kept licking it's bottom!
