Spot the muntjac

I was out Saturday morning. After a walk and stalk I decided to sit in a high seat and spied a muntjac doe with a buck following. I personally think muntjac can be - at least at times - one of the more difficult species to stalk, as their low height lets them see you through the brashings and undergrowth before you see them. That said, sometimes they bumble around without a care in the world. Those are the good ones to clean out from the gene pool!

See if you can spot either of them:

Thats what I thought as well, looks like his head is just popping out,but hmmm could be seeing things too.

Right smack bang in the middle of the three trees about half way through the green fallen debris. one is slightly behind the other and slightly off to the right.

Just shows you how movement can give the game away. Are you sure they were there Willie?:suss: Or could you just be having us over. However i am sure you are not, its just that everyone else cannot see. I personly think they are perched looking through the branches of the first tree on the left about i/2 way up the tree.:fib::-D.
John.

its the one behind the camera thats why it looks like rubarb and custard flick

SORRY Think its left of center in fallen brush!!

What? Me?? Try to pull a fast one over Site members? Not on your Nellie :-D

No-one's got it yet, though a couple have been close.

See if this video helps?

The whimpering you can hear is my lab, Fallow, at the base of the high seat. But then after 10 seconds you'll hear the doe giving it rooty-toot! If you don't get it after a minute then you don't deserve to be called deer stalkers :D And yes, you'll see the doe first, then the buck. It's only the doe that's barking though - the buck's mind was obviously on other things ;)

They stayed there even after I climbed down from the high seat. I had the scope on them a dozen times, but the buck was just too nice to shoot (leave that for a client) and the doe didn't look that fat. I must be getting soft in my old age!

I'm afraid the iPhone doesn't have a stability system, and I'd obviously had my cup of coffee on the way to the stalking ground! Rhubarb and Custard indeed

Iyhthink I found the doe but can't see the buck however it's tough to see on the iPhone I'll have a look on computer when I get in from work :) I'd agree Willie they can be very tough to stalk at times seeming to melt into the woodland , certainly makes it interesting :)

Got em on the video but no way on the still , even after watching the video I can't make em out .
