Bipods! Love them or hate them give me the reason’s why.

Love them when there's a use for them. Just something else to weigh things down and get caught on stuff when there isn't. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

I conceed they may be deployed a tad faster than my alternative!

I started stalking using a piece bag and have since used a number of different bipods. One of the more interesting ones I sold to another forum member. I used to carry this bipod in a side pocket in my rucksack and attach if and when required.

George - I hope it's still giving you sterling service.

the only quick release design bipod of any note IMO
the original Parker Hale design

Don't go rifle shooting without one, gave up on sticks. Found them a real pain to carry about especially if you were dragging a beast. I'm not one to drag a beast then walk back to gather up equipment

Exactly the same as above.
I cant shoot off sticks anyway so do absolutely ALL my shooting from a bipod.
When the grass is short I use the 9-13" and when its long I use the 13-25" and only the swivel version.

Don't use one, I use a set of short sticks off the front of my quad. If I am prone it means I have fallen over :D

Sticks are fine for woodland, but if you go hill stalking no pro. stalker will allow you to shoot any way other than prone, so the choice is yours bipod or off your elbows, rolled up jacket or whatever, but you will be shooting prone.

Why is that, because of remaining concealed?or some other reason?

JCS, I was looking into swapping from harris to a versa-pod when I bought a Sauer (because, as you'll know, from the factory, Sauer only do a forward hole in the schnabel). However in the end I couldn't find one in the UK to "try before you buy" so I had a stud put in the schnabel for the harris. Haven't looked back but the versa-pods did look good.

Never had an issue, always used a single stick on the hill, if you learn how to use it, it's just as good as a bipod! Rucksack (which I always have) is a very good surface to shoot from. All of this is prone, such an easy position to shoot from.

love them, short one for shooting off pick up roof/bonet, longer one when I expect to be shooting from tall grass cover/heather.takes seconds to change between them
