Yukon Photon has arrived - Unboxing with images and now VIDEO

Paul,
Thanks - I guess a QD ring set is the way to go. I will have to explore what is on offer in this respect.

I kave a cz 452 hmr and took a bit of care when first mounting scopes. have 2 that i occasionaly swap between.
I dont really have faith in the zero being held after removal, but having said that, I have not needed to adjust after
swopping!
Next time i fit a fresh scope and rings i think it will be rings on rifle, then a bar and lap them a bit to ensure they are straight, then fit scope after scrupulously cleaning mateing surfaces.. after that, there will be no reason for zero to shift after refitting

Hi Joe and thanks for your reply.

I agree, i do not have complete faith either, unless they are Apel swing off mounts id doubt if the RTZ (return to zero) stays true given varying torque applied to bolts etc.

As for the Picatinny system, its the best on offer for value for money as after all you can purchase weaver rimfire rings for peanuts.

As pictured below:

Regards

Paul

I think when refitting scope it helps to just slide the setup foreward and back a little to bed the dovetails in
before finally tightening up screws. Logic tells me that two metal surfaces should fit together exactly the same every time, provided no dust or grit or oil interferes. Probably means using steel rings.
In conclusion, Paul should research the best ring set of the ideal height and low cost for a CZ / photon

CZ 17 HMR or possible Brno 22 mod 2 for me as well. Joe soapy seems to have a plan.

You bet. I want a setup to take to bed with me..
Better explain..
bedroom window looks out across a field that foxes visit,, the plan is, bait point, driveway intruder alarm, and NV setup. already had some success using a torch. cant stay up every night, so, now i can go to sleep untill fox rings the doorbell, this wakes the wife up, who inturn wakes me, HMR explains that wife's chicken are not fox food, job done and hopefully get reward.... HA
