Slightly off topic, I had a mate who worked at the local Indian restaurant and he was forever asking me to get him venison. At the time I only had air rifle and rimfire plus no ground with deer on. I did however bring him wood pigeon and his chef did tandoori pigeon breast. Mmmmmmmm it was lovely. I'm gutted he's moved to a different restaurant.
On my DSC1 course there was a Muslim gent who worked in meat wholesale and was taking up stalking in great part to be able to expand the range to Hallal venison.
